Why is there so much HATE between Soccer and American Football?

i am a varsity football player and i love soccer. i played for 9 years and i have only played football for 3. i think it would be so fun to be really good at soccer. also my friend was a good football player but he didnt really like it so he switched to soccer and became the starting center back.
