What could i do for my 7 month old son congestion?help!?

my son has been congested for about a week, maybe a little more. I've taken him to the doctor and they gave me some nose drops for him and they only work when i clean out his nose. what could i do for him? ive also tried the humidifire and putting a tad bit of vicks under his nose. please help me!!! i am getting depressed watching him cry, not being able to eat, sleep or just play! please help!anyone know how i could try to clean my sons nose out with out him crying? i have tried playing with him while sucking his boogies out but that doesnt work. any tricks? i really am frustrated and sad to see my son like this please help me, and thank you for your tips and help. =,[
