Platonic Friends, Is there a such thing?

I think its possible. My best friend and I are celebrating our decade long friendly relationship. I of course have feelings of love for him but not in the romantic manner. I probably was attracted to him at some point but I would rather suppress these feelings to maintain a lifelong friendship than a short fling that ends our good days. However if I believed he had similar feelings for me, then of course I would have approached him about these feelings. Be honest!
