So Jesus was the "ransom" for our sins?

Adam sinned. The children of Adam are born in sin. The children of Adam killed the Son of God. Now their sin is redeemed. Killing the Son of God should be a greater sin than eating an apple (or having or killing any child of Adam). And such a huge sin made man’s sin redeemed. I just can’t get it.
